Using 3D Manufacturer Content teaches a user the skills necessary to import 3D manufacturer content (RFA and SketchUp) into AECOsim Building Designer.
What you will learn:
- How to read Autodesk® Revit® RFA parametric content into AECOsim Building Designer V8i using the "RFA Interpreter Wizard”
- How to map the properties and attributes of the RFA to their counterparts in AECOsim Building Designer DataGroup system
- How to import a SketchUp object from the 3D Warehouse to AECOsim Building Designer, place it in the model, and add the appropriate DataGroup information
How you will benefit:
The RFA Interpreter Wizard allows architects and engineers to use RFA content found on manufacturer websites, such as lighting fixtures and furniture, and easily place the content within a 3D model by converting the common BIM format into a format that AECOsim Building Designer can read, store, and place while maintaining all of the geometry, data, and behaviors of the original object.
Once the RFAs are in the workspace, AECOsim Building Designer V8i tools can easily place them as elements already within the workspace. For example, an RFA door is placed with the AECOsim Building Designer V8i Place Door tool. Many items, such as furniture, interior specialties, and site equipment, appear alongside their AECOsim Building Designer V8i counterparts in the Place User Defined tool.
